Joint simulation system for German Armed Forces, Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance
CAE Elektronik GmbH announced that the German Armed Forces and German Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK) have started using the CAE GESI constructive simulation system – known in Germany under the name SIRA – jointly for civil-military emergency management training and as part of emergency management simulation exercises.
For more than 15 years, the German Armed Forces as well as other European armies have been successfully using the CAE GESI system for command and staff training exercises. Now, the established cooperation agreement between the German Armed Forces and German BBK will open up new possibilities for the joint use of the CAE GESI simulation system in civilian and military training operations.
“For CAE, this sets the course for the GESI system in the civilian sector,” said Ulrich Aderhold, Managing Director of CAE Elektronik GmbH. “The global catastrophes we have seen recently show how important it is to be prepared for efficient and safe crisis management. With the help of CAE’s simulation systems, operation headquarters and their staffs can prepare – in complex simulation-based exercises – for all conceivable emergency scenarios.”
Emergency management training with CAE GESI ensures that military, civil crisis and emergency staff are prepared and ready for a range of crisis situations. Its ability to simulate a wide variety of scenarios also helps analysts investigate potential threats and to work out and test respective emergency plans.
