NATO Air Command and Control System ACCS comms in progress
Selex ES successfully completes key milestone of the NATO Air Command and Control System ACCS L16@29Kft Project
Recently Selex ES, a Finmeccanica Company, successfully conducted the Test Readiness Review (TRR) for Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of the Link 16 Equipment Suite (L16ES) for the ACCS L16@29Kft Project. A NATO Communications and Information (NCI) Agency team attended this critical milestone carried out at Selex ES facility at L’Aquila, Italy.
Having completed the TRR, Selex ES has now started the FAT activities which constitute the last “factory-based” contract milestone. This will be followed by “On Site” activities, including the installation and check out of the L16ES and Site Acceptance Test at each of the 33 sites on contract.
The L16@29Kft Project augments the tactical data link coverage delivered under the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Air Command and Control System (ACCS) Level of Capability 1 (LOC1) Project by installing throughout Europe L16ESs consisting of a Multifunctional Information Distribution System (MIDS) Low Volume Terminal (LVT) and the hardware and software needed to enable communication, data, clear and secure via a designated NATO ACCS host site.
