Nato to concentrate cyber services in The Hague
Nato wants to bring all IT, own network digital security and missile defense operations together; Within two years between 50 to 100 NATO staff members will be housed in the property on the Waalsdorpervlakte where already a small division of the Nato Communications and Information Agency is settled.
Nato said the move was spurred by the presence in The Hague of a cluster of major international organisations in the field of security such as Europol and Eurojust, as well as a growing number of companies specialised in cyber security.
These organisations established a partnership umbrella group in 2012 called The Hague Security Delta (HSD), bringing together institutions, government and international companies and organisations.
According to the Policy Research bureau, HSD could become number one in Europe, an international brand, together with Schiphol and the Port of Rotterdam.
